Hi, I'm Andrew Freeman!

I am a strategically minded, profit-focused, and highly motivated full-time Software Developer.

I am passionate about discovering opportunities and solutions through mindful discussion, meaningful analysis, and out-of-the-box thinking. Since high school, I have been recognized as an AP world-scholar, attained my Bachelor's degree with Distinction, and I have worked my way up from the grill to my current permanent position as a full-time software developer!

My current experience as a Software Developer, 4 years’ experience and training in academic and extracurricular software development, coupled with my years of experience and training in profit-focused management at McDonald’s Canada contributes to my effective communication and problem-solving skills, as well and ability to flourish in new environments, technical or otherwise.

My favourite languages to work with are JavaScript/TypeScript and Python.

I'm enthusiastic about using Docker, Ansible, and Terraform to automate as much as I can.

I love Linux, Vim, Visual Studio Code, and Insomnia.

I find myself very comfortable working with networking of all kinds: Proxies, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and gRPC.

In addition, have thorough work experience with various database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, and Timeseries) - namely MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and InfluxDB.

I consider myself a full-stack engineer, most of my work experience has been on the backend, while my hobby projects have focused on front-end development and hardware.

I have formal school training in Ruby, Java, C/C++, and PHP.
